According to a survey of 201 IT decision makers in UK SMEs, nearly half of small businesses have suffered data breaches due to workers opening dangerous links or attachments in spam emails. The research was carried out by Opinion Matters on behalf of GFI Software. The survey found that 40 percent of businesses had suffered some kind of data infection due to spam email, while 4.5 percent said they didn’t know whether they had been breached or not.
