Specialist recruitment site and online, workingmums.co.uk has announced a new section of the site dedicated to helping working parents launch their own businesses. The site says that its new Business Zone was created following a poll which found that almost 70 percent of its visitors wanted more information about starting their own business or franchise.
The new section will feature content offering advice, business ideas and interviews, along with case studies from mothers who have already taken the plunge and started their own company. In addition to this the section will offer a directory of business opportunities and support services.
Gillian Nissim, founder of workingmums.co.uk, says: “The Business Zone directly targets working mums running their own business, wishing to start their own business, or who are looking to start their own business with a franchise, capturing the audience at the very beginning of their journey.
According to a 2010 study by Yell Group and the London School of Economics, mothers in business contribute over £4.4 billion* to the UK economy and account for a significant proportion of start-up businesses in Britain.
