UK software vendor, m-hance, has announced the launch of a new cloud-based invoice processing system called eInvoicing. The company claims its solution can save lower the processing costs of invoices by up to 80 percent as well as reducing businesses carbon footprints. The system processes invoices received via email in PDF format, removing the requirement to print and manually process paper invoices. A business that processes over 5,000 invoices per year could see cost reductions of between 60 and 80 percent by using the system, according to m-hance. Network management software vendor, Ipswitch, has announced the latest release of its WhatsUp Log Management tool. The most significant enhancement of this version is the inclusion of out-of-the-box, pre-rolled reports designed to help businesses comply with pan-European data protection requirements, including the UK Data Protection Act. Last year UK businesses were fined £1million by the Information Commissioner’s Office for failing to comply with the DPA. Approximately twenty percent of technology industry executives admit to rejecting job applicants based on their activity in social media, according to a survey of over 300 technology companies carried out by PR group, Eurocom. The survey also found that half of tech firms plan to increase their investment in social media over the coming year but 57 percent say that they cannot accurately measure the return on that investment. 23 percent believe they can measure the impact of their social media investment. The survey found that 74 percent of tech companies are using LinkedIn, 67 percent are on Twitter, 64 percent are on Facebook and 56 percent have a presence on YouTube. IT security and risk management solution provider, Integralis, has announced an increased investment in its global Security Operations Centre, which delivers the company’s managed security services. The SOC operates centres of excellence in the UK, US and Singapore which provide round the clock support from approximately 150 engineers. Integralis says it invests heavily the development of these engineers to ensure they remain well trained and certified, capable of offering a high degree of expertise.
